COVID 19

My and my friend’s Maz V introduction to COVID-19

Who would have thought something that some of us can only describe as the equivalent, in fact worse, than the PLAGUE:  could  happen?   A National emergency killing thousands, millions worldwide could have broken out. One struggles to get one’s head round it all, and crazy, doomsday and bonkers are words describing it.. Who could  in the 21st century have comprehended that we would be going through another ‘pestilence’, another epidemic now a pandemic on a huge scale- COVID 19 is here..and it’s rampaging through all our lives like a tornado does with anything that gets in it’s way!

Just like the Black death and  the  bubonic,/pneumonic plague and  the other blood disorder category of plague, i think they were called, [i am not even going to try and spell..but i think it began with an s: ….and apologies if pneumonic is a wrong spelling too]-
ps I am not quiet at that stage of lock down boredom yet that i need to try every variation known to mankind!  Although it is very surreal…and tiresome but necessary to save lives, another similarity to the plague  and other pandemics like cholera, influenza, smallpox, [foot and mouth]  and even Aids/HIV which only peaked in 2012 or so, as recently as that.
Has the Great plague of 1665 really gone, do they ever or is it still…lurking.  And others?
A very brief mention to the earlier  pandemics and wars also in history to do a quick background…the Great fire of London actually  helped distinguish the plague and in response to these events and others public health and a government responsibility to it’s citizens ensued.  Various factory acts, Speenhamland and poor house laws were changed and or re-structured and introduced to try and stop these killer pandemics and epidemics from happening again  Within a year of the big influenza outbreak from 1918-1919 which engulfed the world, a staggering 20 million had died!
Even as recent as 1900, the plague broke out in Portugal and Australia and as far apart as them. Umm sound familiar?
It even appeared in Europe and the far east.  Some historians believe the plague also started in or near China.
They were/all brutal killers especially the coronavirus stopping or hindering a person’s breathing!
[One of my closest friends, Paul Digby, aged 49,, died this way with they say a form of ferocious  pneumonia;  after seeing him the chapel of rest, and hearing from corona sufferers, i could NOT envisage a worse thing or death, my heart goes out to him an others; it is truly traumatic]
When the bubonic plague broke out in 1665, it spread from parish to parish.  There was little in the way of hospital care in those days, never mind good public health.
Up to this point more or less, there was not or extremely limited laws passed to aide it’s citizens health.
Dark narrow alley ways like the Shambles in York only hastened the plague and others.  However, the Great fire of London in 1666 helped kill off a lot of the black rats and flees that – carried the plague bacillus.  People developed ‘buboes’ [swellings] and suffered sickness, constant almost and splitting headaches.  In the bubonic plague patches of skin turned black even; hence the Black death and the  overcrowding of it’s population only worsened the situation.
Tho many lives were lost the fire in/of London, it acted as a form of cleansing and replenishing took place/of sanitation/housing and dwelling/housing issues in particular.
The landscape in England was changing and gradually towns became busier and parish boundaries were moved and eventually the Poor Law, workhouse ethics and ideologies were shifting..(I decided not to use the word transitioning as i am pretty bored of how many times Megan and Harry have mentioned it and are still planning on moving again, just thought id lighten up for a mo eh, apologies)!  The plague wiped out 15% of the population that summer, and it s said to have started in the cramped parish of St. Giles-in-the-field, perished.  The bodies were kept in peoples houses unto the cart to carry the corpses came out  on it’s rounds shouting
“Bring out your dead”…-
then slowly and surely they were taken off and burnt in big communal pits.  [Blimey, i even heard they used to brick whole families in if a member of the family had the plague].
Summary –
Today is the 8th of April 2020 and the more we her about Covid (a member of the corona virus).virus, the more it fits the criteria of the other epidemics and pandemics that have precluded it  There are several similarities.
For example these are a few.  I am no professor on virus’s nor history, but like others i find this subject and time in history when industrialization a few decades later was slowly developing and so forth in England,  very interesting but very, very alarming!
1/  The plague started in the east and/or  possibly China it’s documented.  Just like in Wuhan China Covid19 started! Where we and other countries think it developed there.  However China are denying it now in fact they are saying we should be grateful they are helping the fight as much as they are and so on.!
The mind boggles..
2/   Links exist to eating animals, even up to very recently, cat’s and dogs were eaten/ in the Schezuan district of China, now outlawed; thank goodness, poor animals.. and poor sanitation.
(3/ G5 including other conspiracy theories abound with Covid’s conceptualization. )
4/ The plague and other pandemics/diseases were worst in built up or heavily populated areas..also.
London and N/York have been thee or one of the few hardest hit by covid, and  other main cities world wide.
5/ There were different types of the plague and Covid19 is, accord.to sources, the nineteenth of this strain of this virus.
lastly,
6/  Some big killers like the influenza and the plague came back at different times in history and places and could even be around hiding somewhere in a remote part of the universe, or even like a cancer.  It could stay dormant in us for months/years!
The Chinese announced proudly that Covid 19 s stopped killing in Wuhan ..or at least…
for now and they acknowledge it could reappear.
Conclusion
History,  shows us that we are still as vulnerable to the elements of the universe, god, nature whatever;  than we ever was.
;;We also have all the stresses modern life brings  according to public health records, population control, mother nature, man -made chemicals and or diseases and others have taught us that we are not the great masters of the anymore.
No more in the 21 st century than we were back in the 1600’s!  Nature and other great forces are the real masters and we remain at it’s ‘feet’.
Modern technology cannot ever protect us from or destinies and dying and thou societies got faster it is not  much better.
Not in my opinion, anyhow    Modern medicine can save an prolong life but it has not mastered death yet.
To end on a positive note, i feel i should, rather than i want to,;-two possible cures have been sighted as a cure for Covid 19 this last few days.
a. President Trump s super drug chloroquine is a contender, or was but sadly-Sweden has banned it
&
b. Another drug has come out hailed as a cure for the above deadly disease  C19,..look it up in today’s news [BreakingnewsToday] but like other drugs i am sure it’s going to have to go thru NICE (and no doubt poor animal trials too in the first place)..  Ok,  Ok i’ll tell you Ivermectin/ivernectin is this new drugs name, just incase.
Australian scientists say it kills covid within 48 hours.  Dead.
While China is preparing an advanced-disinformation campaign to say it is not their fault this covid outbreak, meanwhile…back in Britain, the Henry Jackson society think tank have devised a financial compensation scheme for Britain including the Chancellor’s Sunak’s economic bail out ‘and hikes in NHS spending’ as well as cancelled flights etc.believing China (and others even Trump is blaming the WHO for late/misinformation for delayed shutdown policies in America and accusing the WHO of ‘being in bed’ with China) is to blame for this latest pandemic.
God bless Britain and Borris .and all those who have died especially the brave corageous doctors and nurses, bus drivers and others who have lost their life and those to come .  Life has not necessarily gone ‘Bonkers’ as Peter Andrea said in his column, it was going totally bonkers before. ‘ Fast’er and faster,
crueler and crueler and money orientated vacuous celebrities splashing out millions on second and third houses and plastic surgery such as the Kardashians and David Beckham reported to have spent 24 million on his second or third house/ flat in Miami.last few days.  What on earth is going on/or was and still is????
How do they sleep with third world countries suffering food poverty and missing the very basic’s in life. NHS crisis’, millions dying…all obsessed with self and pleasures and money money money.
This has got to stop.
What would my mother have said and your grandma’s and so on
I MISS U MUM.  U were to good for this world.
My friends too, who passed recently, RIP.
I hope man’kind’ learns it’s lessons after this dreadful scourge on us all.
However, somehow i doubt we or some wont .
Lesson’s are rarely learnt at least when they are applied to others.
The world will never be the same again, at least i hope not.
