My story…

Mine and my beloved mothers story has actually started in 2008-9 and it became one can only describe as a horror story. All that I did for my mother as her registered carer with a degree in a relevant subject and what me, Rachel Booth/Aspden witnessed by friends also, was put through is almost indescribable.. What i mainly had to go through to get her correctly diagnosed, treated at other major cancer hospitals in Britain, then not being able to visit my own mother had at times become almost unbearable over subsequent years.  So, i won’t be silenced anymore like some others.  The wheels of justice turn slowly mother told me: but turn they must!

I live in Morecambe bay though I was from Blackburn where i spent a happy childhood. I decided that, like other social injustices, after undergoing what i internally refer to as ^my own personal *’holocaust’ and trauma, that i would start this project also to look into these issues, policies and start a group.  Though I have to admit it has been laborious, painful but necessary process. We need to highlight (underpinned.., at least at the time of writing and to the best of our knowledge: by the truth and cold hard facts), what appears to be happening to some patients, truthfulness and honesty about such matters from the professionals would i feel be implicit and integral part of the care process and if funds cannot allow certain: – diagnostic and treatments in part or full, some deaths could surely be avoided. Are patients treatment costs being capped, only allowing so much on each patient in some cases?

Particularly in relation to end of life care and what transpired at Saint John’s hospice. It calls to question if it is happening elsewhere in the system~ I thought Liverpool pathways had ended.

(Has it been re-introduced by the back door?)

Lastly, I have decided to include how it has affected me at times.  As we have seen in the media recently with the presenter Caroline Flack and others committing suicide over social media coverage, DV laws and a lack of support services, i have personally experienced with an ex here i lived with, unfair treatment and sanctions: is a recipe for disaster i learnt the hard way… Purely because I simply questioned at

A/. The hospital why my beloved mother Mrs Elizabeth Anne Booth could not have chemotherapy at the Royal Lancaster infirmary and Preston hospital, et al.

Then:

B/. Questioned why she was bundled behind my back into the hospice, in the vale of night, i think; which was alarmingly controlling and inhumane and untruthful to both of us as to the reasons my mother went in there, on many levels,…was untrue. Yet- Because I questioned why she was in there when all her scans were clear at the Christies in Manchester, after ringing the doorbell one afternoon to see her: the police arrived in droves and my twin sister and I were denied our visitation rights. It appears then and there we/I in particular had no basic civil nor

Human rights:  (rights to visit relatives and freedom of movement/ i was treated like a criminal).  Why?

What happened to the Patients charter and my legitimate ‘Right to know?’ and  subsequently, at that point…Despite witness s there at the time who saw me simply ring the bell to see my mother, I became subject to unlawful and unfair sanctions and consequently i felt sub-human.  Nobody seemed to care apart from a few of the wider relatives at the time Lynn and Curtis et al, and a few friends who received the same treatment at the hospice.  I had at first been relieved she was in their as the water had gone off and frozen over Christmas, but the experience turned out to be what i feel to be how the prisoners in the concentration camps and others during the war must have also felt. Animals had/have more humane treatment than my mother and I had.  How does a person learn to live with it, why should we?

Who do they think we are the two people who should have been making the decisions were cruelly kept out of the process?

This is supposed to be a democracy seemingly not when its end of life care or it suits their targets and budgets.  (I have in my cancer treatment been very grateful to meet some prolific and kind, extremely caring doctors however not all are allowed this luxury.  Sadly the postcode lottery and luck comes into play.  Still.

QUESTION FOR YOU?-

How in the 21st century can something so awful as this happen and be hushed under the carpet? This is not a life I can subscribe to.  I did not sign up for this nor is my character of the type I can be silenced, like other well-meaning citizens anymore.  I would rather not be or at least in human form!  For my few friends that have helped me over the years, in particular Yvette Moses, her father and others, at this point I do not have their permission to name; I thank them from the bottom of my heart.  Also for believing and helping with the group and other matters like information giving/sharing.

Me and my mother were misdiagnosed, I have a GMC investigation at present into these issues, and I had to get her chemo elsewhere refused here, locally. Mum received uninformed palliative surgery. My mother went into the hospice under false pretences, (and others it appears) She died there miserable and depressed a sister told me, Charlotte, or in so many words downtrodden and no doubt confused. I had to be escorted in and was virtually not allowed nor dare i go in alone or with a friend. I did not want to; I wanted her to get a second opinion again and out of that place. It was crazy and to do this and infringe our mother and daughter relationship?  This is totally unacceptable.  How dare they.  They abused their positions and powers. Little people with grandiose ideas. My mother was neither others nor their possession to be guarded and scare mongered.  Once a person told me about birth bond certificates and how they can be cashed in where someone dies. As to if this is true or not I do not know, but how they detained my mother and stopped selected persons visiting Inc. my boyfriend Jason at the time, who went alone and a very old family friend from Blackburn is beyond belief?

This type of access issues has occurred to others … I had to clear my name and was arrested in relation to these issues around the time. I even had to go to the then IPCC and my complaints were upheld.  But by then mum had died a gruesome death…I don’t feel that this was done deliberately by the constabulary, but never to be asked my truthful side of the story, is not impartiality.  It was not kind.  I had got her diagnosed both times and us and mum chemo at the excellent Christie hospital. I went on and a sister.., to develop the same genetic cancer/s my maternal grandma Annie died with and my mum also had BRCA1 gene fault mutation and Cancers.

Very lastly, I promise to everyone that visits the EIERE+ website, that all the info is Empirical as regards scientific evidence and fiscal information is true and as it happened at the time of writing and disclaimers are on our posters. This site keeps the right to speak freely to the best of our knowledge and no intent to neither malign nor discredit any one is intended. The hospices here stopped quiet maliciously, my mother’s visit to The Christie a few weeks before she died.  They were taking a sample of her blood; I could have been prevented from developing cancer if these draconian hostile behaviours of the hospice had not been allowed to happen. I must include at this point, that they were enabled by certain coercive members of my ‘family’.  One of my older sisters also, I will I will never forgive.  (I still get bullied and pushed around).  Not anymore… Many of them never listened to me nor have any remorse. .. NO ONE LISTENED!

THE COST;

I lost my career, job and interest in life. As any normal person would..  I cannot begin to explain how I have suffered.  I am not alone, on my travels others have too, including my good friend Yvette Moses and her father as to how her mother Margaret died and they too do not know where the body still is.  I didn’t for two years…. Just as worrying others have stories to tell.  They’re not all happy customers here at M. bay (Lancashire).  However i have since met some awesome doctors at the Royal infirmary and have saved my bacon on other occasions! Mum died of a palliative anastomosis to the bowl, (starvation in layman’s terms).  However she, mum, had no idea that this operative procedure had been undertaken. The police had become in directly involved.   Funnily enough one of the officers at the time told me he had had “Something similar there happen to him”. ~ My mum’s death certificate was different from her original diagnosis the uninformed unconsented to palliative surgery. My mother told me she was told she was going in there and was just. Quote…..”Treating it like a hotel while they gave her drips and built her up for chemotherapy”=

This NEVER HAPPENED.

So, excuse my pre-amble and I wish to end this synopsis by stating that similar things although may be not as graphic and macabre has, in the course of my research, happened to others in the locality.  True, but at present i am not at liberty to say who.  That may have to stay a secret for now due to processing of information data laws etc. have three groups at present i am slowly collating, I have filed away one of other concerned relatives, and group supporters and members who like me have burning issues and grievances that remain unanswered. Doomed to be forever forgotten in the archives of history. Or is it going to be? We do not wish for this. Nor will we allow it to be. Not anymore.  It has blighted some of our lives.  The local NHS, sadly owe many millions of pounds in the region I believe of 165/168 million and patient care is suffering and people’s lives especially- the uninformed and some, maybe even just a few trusting vulnerable patients and elderly are simply… ’dying2save£’, EIERES logo.

IS JUST ONE of these type of deaths ACCEPTABLE? NO IS THE ANSWER TO THAT.

The hospice has I believe have several franchises, some worth thousands possibly millions, although i can’t really see how.

[Me and others should never have been put in this position or made/compelled by their futility and outrage to spend years of their lives having to do this. While some mock and scorn you but what do those people care they were not affected} Maybe my friend who told me meant thousands? Who i was recently informed of this by a very industrious well educated friend of mine: in addition, they are paid by (two)/three public authorities i established mentioned elsewhere on this site, alongside their financial income and expenditure over certain years from various sources. A friend from Oak tree house at that time, informed me in the financial year ending 2018 they earned 10 million with another 5 million unaccounted for.  Costa coffee here also has a franchise i a m of the opinion informed with the hospital and many shops while other businesses and charities are closing or facing financial ruin.

Would cancer research not be a better charity to pursue? Encouraging life rather than facilitating death? (We apologise, again, if any of this or forthcoming information is incorrect but it is what we know at the time of uploading) Our aim – *is to advertise our angle of aspects of end of life care and question the hospice/s business ethics, policies and procedures and where is all the money going? After all advertising and freedom of speech is a two way process. Were interested in new supporters & stories.  Even the good ones…~ For a very small nine bedded unit at the local hospice, EIERE was told (off a lady who s father died in there, after being rushed back from Spain, and also had a torrid exit from the world, to be receiving in the region of upwards of 9/10million pounds a year possibly (included in their accounts section of the website both EIERES and theirs) (and Johns who won’t even disclose on their website the number of beds they have, but instead alluding to it as limited availability;) is in itself a great mystery would you agree?. Later on this site there is a story of a man called James, who was alive many years later and did not die from terminal cancer.  He escaped with his life.  I do not wish to go to my grave with this too. Please read on, there are no doubt many happy customers and grateful people,, but ignorance is bliss my mother used to say!  Or is it? I think we should let the facts and truth decide.

This is my/our group’s contribution to life also to my beloved mother and others who may not have all been treated well.

All:-

Upcoming information, evidence and other national and related newspaper articles. I hope you find of interest in end of life care and patient care.  Ask yourself do you think some patient care is suffering to high demands and pay cuts?

We want accountability, transparency and please… if anyone cares. I sincerely hope they do… an enquiry and whatever else is IN THE PUBLIC’S BEST INTEREST, not their bank balances.

Thank you for looking at this site and I hope it never happens to you or your loved ones.

i was her closest child. I got my mum chemo denied at Lancaster.

We were both misdiagnosed but other hospitals said there’s no way…could have got it mixed up.??

Also, I had the braca they said we did not, HOWEVER we did. (I ACCEPT THIS WAS PROBABLY PROTOCOL NOT TO TEST AT THIS STAGE OR IT MAY HAVE BEEN AN ERROR AS PEOPLE DO MAKE)

The hospice deliberately IT FEELS, as i informed and asked the doctor there of this appointment at the Christie) actually stopped mums blood test despite my H/Rights and concerns… at the renowned/specialist hospital at Christies and stopped me establishing if I and other members of the family and relatives did indeed have braca1 mutation gene.

Despite all my pleas i was treated like a criminal and my mother a detainee.

~I was diagnosed cancer nearly 2 years ago and sister just over 4 years ago, and it has hit us like the plague…

I have been through indescribable torment pain and suffering. Lost my career and job over it and maybe life in the endlike others, who knows.

I feel abused I struggle living with it esp did do. I can’t die knowing terrible things are going on, there is a group of other concerned relatives and members/supporters. At present slowly being organised…

Some are scared of speaking up ie i was sanctioned and later arrested.

The GMC are looking into the med issues, formerly, and I spent years having two PHSO cases they are a joke the latter and bias. (PHSO is the Parlimentary and health ombudsman).

They seem only to exist just to make it seem as though people care and the official bodies will intervene.

To me and Yvette they seem only to exist at this level, as a paper exercise and to make us believe there is parity and justice.

There was certainly not!

Sadly.

Paul Digby and Fred Kirzak, who died almost/possibly, victims of the system or of misinformation and possible bad timing and bad luck.  Recently, They will always be cherished in my heart and their friends hearts forever and I thank them, deeply, for all their help and kindness, especially Paul, who put me up and helped me to carry on after my loss..

They too may be gone.

But not forgotten, kind, funny and witty intelligent men.  They were givers in life not takers.  God takes the good first.

I and some others remain troubled and distressed at what may be happening here and in other places in Britain.

(I can’t help quietly thinking to myself it almost has connotations to certain aspects of the holocaust/and or involuntary euthanasia by the back door).  This is a subjective view and I fully wish to exercise my Freedom of Speech this time.  We will be listened to too!

At Manchester hospitals including Withenshaw and the Christies and others I have had gave me some hope for the future and some of the doctors and oncologists seriously impressed me with their kindness and diligence.

Let’s roll this out everywhere, we only have one life, I also join the CALM campaign: campaign against living miserably.

Thank you.  An email will be listed on this website at the end and any issues. EIERE welcomes. (In confidence).
